This distance described by Moor to his hometown can be viewed as the end of hiscosmopolitan community. Since the battle for power over the city between Muslims and Hindus, and economic power versus political power has shattered his community, he is no longer welcome. Had he attached himself to a religious group or political party, one doubts whether he would leave. One can assume he would feel a sense of belonging t o his city and opt to stay and help his affiliates gain control once more despite his family ties, which were frayed from the start. When unity is severed, a cosmopolitan society reacts with violence. It is impossible to maintain this ideology without some unifying force or common moral understanding. The religious differences of India between Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs give way to different moral beliefs and obligations. Only with something tying them together can these differences be overcome. As stated before, the country did not view itself as cosmopolitan, therefore, not everyone shared the belief that they were citizens of the world trying to get along in peace. In Cracking India, the departure of the English ruptured a unity between the people of India. While striving for independence, each religious community shared a common goal and a common enemy: the English. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Parsees would all assimilate in the park together, citizens of a common goal. Once independence was sought after, Hindus and Muslims began vying for power in order to place their own people in position to prosper. The na rrator, Lenny, saw this change and states, â€Å"I became aware of religious differences. One day everybody is themselves-and the next day they are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh Christian† (101). This clash was inevitable because â€Å"the family was already plunging towards that catastrophic conflict, the so-called ‘battle of the in-laws’† (33). When the patriarch of the family dies, the sons inherit the business and the matriarch’s greed drives the family to divide and turn on one another. The family unity was held together by Francisco and his successful trade business, when he dies, the family’s lust for greed and power turns them on one another and they resort to violence in order to inherit. While the family feud in the Zogoiby household shows the eruption of violence when unity is severed, it is merely a smaller representation of what happens to Bombay after the death of Mainduck. When the explosion at Mainduck’s house goes off, the whole city of Bombay begins to explode. Hindu against Muslim, Abraham’s group against Mainduck’s group, everyone becomes a victim or perpetrator. When the delicate balance of power between Abraham and Mainduck crumbles, the society around it crumbles. There was a sense of belonging to the people of those groups, a sense of unity. When these opposing fronts are confronted they violently react to their opposition. This division directly challenges cosmopolitanism because these groups are vying for power instead unifying in the face of adversity. Much like the character’s loyalties to their religion in Cracking India, the characters in The Moor’s Last Sigh cling to their loyalties to both religious and politic al parties. Joel probably would not have erased Clementine, but he found a card that told him he was erased from her memory and he did not think that he could go on with the memory of he r. This film is completely different from a Hollywood version, at the end of this movie it leaves room for interpretation for the viewer to think for themselves whether Clementine and Joel will end up happily ever after, there are no clear answers. The scene begins with Joel and Clementine lying naked on a rug in the middle of the floor covered only by a repugnant quilt. The quilt has a tranquilizing effect however because of its warm colors, which is perfect for this scene. The colors of the quilt subconsciously give the feeling that everything is comfortable. As they are lying on the floor Clementine asks Joel if she is ugly. As soon as she asks the question the shot changes and it shows Joel instantly respond with an uh huh, in a manner saying no. The next shot is a picture of Clementine when she was little. The picture of her is a somewhat average little girl. She is sitting in a chair dressed in a pink cowgirl outfit holding a stuffed giraffe, which is what I would think of as being a fairly standard picture that would be taken at the grandparents house after opening presents at Christmas. It gives me this feeling because she.This picture shows what Joel pictures her as a little girl. He sees her as being a completely innocent child, and that is the way that he wants to remember her. The camera then pans across about ten dolls while it is out of focus until it reaches the ugly doll, that was also named Clementine, and then it focuses and zooms in on it. Clementine te lls Joel that she would yell at the doll to try and make it prettier, and she for some reason believed that if the doll became prettier then she would too. The fact that Clementine is telling Joel about the doll in this intimate moment is that it makes her seem vulnerable and in need to Joels affection. I think this is the pinnacle of their relationship, this is the most intimate and emotional shot in the entire movie where they both are completely content with each other. At this exact point Joel realizes that he desperately wants to retain the memories of Clementine even though some of them may be painful. He realizes that he does not have to completely forget her to move on. Joels mind then starts to remember other times of perfect ecstasy. The camera shows Joel and Clementine lying on the ice next to each other. The camera shows a close up of their hands as they grasp each other and Joel says I could die right now Clem, Im just happy. Ive never felt that before. Clementine moves to a position that she can lay her head on his chest. The expression on her face is also utter happiness. Joel then says, Im just exactly where I want to be. The scene goes to chaos from here. As soon as he finishes the sentence, it shows them lying in what looks to be a busy sidewalk in the middle of a metropolitan area, but again in the darkness with the light fixed only on them. The chaos reminds me of the way dreams work, the background or room does not always make sense and not everything is clear. Clem is then pulled away from Joel, as if to show that he is losing her again. The vary fact that they are erasing each other from their memories is showing that they are trying to hide from the fact that love is not easy. Joel and Clementine both take the easy way out. I think that this film is trying to send the message that love is hard, but it is worth the pain that will undoubtedly come. I am reminded of a quote by Lord Tennyson that goes Tis greater to have loved once than to have never loved at all. This quote means that even if you have been heart broken the good memories and times vastly outweigh the bad. The sad part about this movie is the fact that neither Joel nor Clementine had the temperance to see this and just gave up. Once they find out that they had erased each other from their memories things start to make sense for them. Clementine understands why she keeps feeling deja vu, and why something just did not feel right with Patrick. Due to Canada’s service over seas in Africa, the Royal Highlanders were awarded the battle honour, South Africa 1889-1900.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  1905 was the year that the Royal Highlanders Regiment was formally allied with the Black Watch Troops in Scotland, and in 1906 that army was ordered to form a second army. It was the only two-army command stationed in one city for years. On August 1st, 1914 Sir Robert Borden, the Prime Minister of Canada, offered the Black Watch’s of Canada to help Great Britain in a war against Germany, Great Britain accepted the offer. 300 of the men volunteered. During World War I, three more Black Watch armies were formed. By the end of the month the Black Watch has over 1,000 men. Over 60% of the original soldiers were of British origin. During the first acts of war, the Canadian army lost over a hundred officers, and nearly 460 other ranks.

Edward V and his younger brother Richard, were sent to the Tower by Richard Ill(also their uncle). the boys were declared illegitimate and the Duke was crowned King Richard Ill. Then the Princes vanished†¦ Richard Ill has usually been considered the most likely culprit. By declaring the princes illegitimate, he cleared his way to the throne. He would secure his position by having them murdered. In 1485, Richard Ill was killed in the Battle of Bosworth.The defeater, Henry Tudor, was crowned King Henry VI'. It was in the Tudors' interest to paint Richard as a villain. Henry VII is also a suspect. He married the princes' sister, Elizabeth of York, strengthening his claim to the throne. This could have been jeopardised if the boys had survived. It does seem unlikely that they survived beyond the end of Richard's reign without being seen. There are also other suspects including the Duke of Buckingham, once Richard's closest ally, whom he later had beheaded.Thomas More, writing over 3 0 years later, stated that the princes were mothered on their uncle's orders, secretly buried ‘at the stair foot', and then reburied elsewhere in the Tower. Two skeletons, identified as those of the princes, were discovered when a building in front of the White Tower was demolished in 1674. The skeletons were examined in 1933 and pronounced as belonging to two boys, aged about ten and twelve. Were these the two boys? I think that king Richard Ill killed the two boys, but then again How could a man who seems to be so fiercely loyal to his brother, kill his brother's children after his death?Despite having eliminated the two princes from being in line for the throne, his claim to the throne was still insecure and the Princes could be a threat all the time they were alive. Richards enemies would seize on them as a leader without real power and Richard couldn't afford that. Despite the rumours and accusations of murder, Richard never attempted to prove them alive by having them se en in public nor did he open any investigation into an investigation into the matter. This to me seems very suspicious and therefore that is why I am convinced Richard Ill killed the princes in the tower.
